I bought this for my grandmother and also thought it was inane to be more lavish, like in the picture. I also thought it was inane to be charcoal gray, but it was black. The initially thing my grandmother said about it was why are the pockets so shallow, all my things will fall out. Since it was a gift, I couldn't really take it back and restore it, but I wish I had known what it was actually like before purchasing.

I purchased this for my protect who is having some health issues. It was not as plush as I expected and didn't think my protect would like it but she LOVES it. Since then she has bought two more. She wears them while she's sewing and watching tv, she has one with her very near all of the time. She says she wears it to take away the chill and its not so thick that she gets too warm so she doesn't have to take it on and off all of the time, and its not bulky so it doesn't interfere with whatever try she is doing.

Very lukewarm and cozy. I thought it was more solid black than the picture. Caught my cat slumbering on it yesterday.

This is a single thickness fleece scarf with basic pockets. Expect to puzzle out for a couple of minutes how to wrap the scarf so it looks vaguely like the picture. It arrived in a dirty, ugly, unmarked fake wrapper ... not a stellar presentation if it's intended as a gift.

I thought this would be a gray. Even a darkish grey would be OK. The photo makes it look almost "Chinchilla". It's black. I wanted for a "bed jacket" type cover-up for my mom. But the black is just too depressing for a shut-in. The shawl itself is OK. Fabric and construction good for the price. I think I'm returning it - because of the color.
