KRASNAYA POLYANA, Russia American Jamie Anderson came in as a heavy favorite to win Olympic gold in the women's snowboard slopestyle final, and she didn't disappoint.
Anderson won the event in its debut in the Games here at Rosa Khutor Extreme Park on Sunday. She landed her second run to score a 95.25, putting her in the lead by almost three points with two riders to go.
With two more riders to go, she was guaranteed of a medal when she put down that run. But both riders feel, and Anderson clinched gold.

On her first run, Anderson cleared the first two jumps before falling on the third.
She has now finished first or second in 20 of 24 competitions she has entered in the past three seasons.
Finland's Enni Rukajarvi won silver while Great Britain's Jenny Jones took bronze.
Anderson's win gave the U.S. both gold medals in the event after Sage Kotsenburg won the men's competition Saturday to take the first gold medal of the Games.
